How will the Yantra Mat affect my body?
In minutes, you’ll feel warmth along the parts of your body touching the mat. That’s an increase in blood flow, a natural response to acupressure. More blood flow means improved circulation – and more nutrients throughout the body, including oxygen. This in turn lowers your blood pressure, producing a deep sense of relaxation.
The Yantra Mat also activates your body’s pain sensors, instructing the brain to release endorphins and oxytocin, your natural pain-relieving and “feel-good” hormones. Your anxieties dissipate. Relaxation deepens into peace and tranquility – making the mat especially suitable if you have trouble sleeping.
After using the Yantra Mat, you’ll feel refreshed and energized for the day ahead. And you’ll feel more connected to yourself, more conscious of your body/mind connection.

How many acupressure points does the Yantra Mat have?
The Yantra Mat has 8,820 to 14,616 acupressure points, depending on size (each “flower” contains 42 spikes). These acupressure points are calibrated during the manufacturing process, giving each one exactly the same shape and feel. Our focus on quality translates into more comfort and better results for you.

Can the Yantra Mat hurt or pierce my skin?
No, not if used correctly. The Yantra Mat’s acupressure points will distribute your weight evenly, making it more comfortable than you imagine. It’s common sense: if you press too hard against the mat using a small area of the body (e.g., an elbow or finger), the spikes will feel sharp and painful. When you gently lie down on the mat, you’ll distribute your body weight evenly across 8,820 acupressure points. It may feel intense, but it should not be painful. If the Yantra Mat does hurt, try putting a thin cloth between the mat and your skin.
For most of us, acupressure is an entirely new sensation, but our bodies adjust quickly. After a few minutes, any discomfort will subside. After multiple uses, you won’t feel uncomfortable at all. The mat does leave your skin with tiny impressions from the acupressure points, but they’ll disappear within an hour or two – as will any redness, which indicates additional blood flow beneath the skin (a sign of the mat’s effectiveness).

Can I wear clothes while lying on the Yantra Mat?
Yes. But the Yantra Mat is most effective when in direct contact with the skin.

Is it dangerous to lie on the Yantra Mat for too long?
No. You may get deeper impressions on your skin, but they’ll disappear eventually. While we don’t recommend lying on the Yantra Mat for more than two hours at a time, no harm is done if this happens occasionally. People fall asleep on the Yantra Mat often.

I have a broad back. Is there a Yantra Mat for me?
Yes. The Yantra Mat is available in 3 different sizes: medium, large and extra-large. The larger mats have more acupressure points. If you’re a large person, you don’t necessarily need a large mat (and vice versa). Our medium size definitely fits a broad back. The larger sizes are intended to treat a wider area, for example both the back and buttocks.

Can I use the Yantra Mat on other parts of my body?
Yes, but we suggest lying on your back to start. It’s the best way to feel the full effects of the Yantra Mat. After all, the widest treatment area produces the most powerful response. But you can use the mat wherever it feels right: neck, shoulders, feet, cheek, or stomach.

Can children use the Yantra Mat?
Only children 8 and over should use the Yantra Mat, but not without supervision. Just make sure they lie still, and they’ll experience the same benefits as adults. The Yantra Mat, like any good product, is safe if used according to design. But kids are likely to view the mat as a “cool” gadget – so watch them carefully if the mat is out in the open. Finally, remember: the Yantra Mat should not hurt anyone. If your child’s skin is sensitive, if he or she tells you the mat hurts, place a thin cloth over the acupressure points.

How do I clean the Yantra Mat?
To clean the mat, remove the foam pad inside. Mix a little detergent in warm water and wash the spiked cover by hand. Rinse thoroughly, and let the cover drip dry. Do not use a washing machine or tumble dryer, as the Yantra Mat and machinery may be damaged.

Can I use the Yantra Mat if I’m overweight?
Yes – absolutely. There is even some evidence that acupressure increases metabolism. Just remember: the Yantra Mat may feel intense, but it should not be painful. If it does hurt, try placing a thin sheet over the acupressure points.

Should I avoid the Yantra Mat if I’m not feeling well?
On the contrary, you should embrace the Yantra Mat during a cold! When an infection breaks out, increasing blood circulation and reducing stress are excellent ways to care for yourself.

Can I use the Yantra Mat if I have inflammation of the neck and/or back?
Absolutely. Increased circulation can actually speed up the healing process, with more blood flow to the inflamed areas.

I have acne and/or scars on my back; can I use the Yantra Mat anyway?
It depends. Scars won’t hinder your experience of the mat, or the effects of acupressure. However, if you have open acne wounds, or scars that haven’t healed yet, avoid using the Yantra Mat on or around those areas.

Can I use the Yantra Mat if I have a rheumatic disease?

Can I use the Yantra Mat if I’ve had any form of heart disease?

Can I use the Yantra Mat if I have low blood pressure?
If you have low blood pressure, consult your physician before use. Since the Yantra Mat can lower your blood pressure further, this could lead to fainting – especially if you arise from the mat too quickly.

Can I use the Yantra Mat if I have open or infected wounds?
If you have open wounds, infected or not, do not use the Yantra Mat on or around those areas.
